About the places -

BURHANPUR :: The Historic city of Burhanpur is famous for its many beautiful monuments that lie scattered across the city. Most of the monuments lie in a state of ruins but they give us a fine idea of the grandeur of the Mughal Rule. The city was considered to be the Gateway to the South. A lesser known fact about the city is that Mumtaz Mahal breathed her last in this city and was entombed across the river Tapti before her tomb was shifted to The Taj Mahal in Agra.

Day 1: Saturday

 

Arrive in Burhanpur @ 06:15 hrs

 

Freshen up & have breakfast.

 

Sightseeing: Jhamma Masjid, Rajpura & Silampura Gate, Khundi Bhandara, Asirgad Fort, Moti Mahal, Shiv Temple, Idga.

 

Return back to the Guest house late in the evening & gorge on delicious Chat & Sweets that Madhya Pradesh is famous for.

 

Note:  Khundi Bhandara from outside only & please avoid wearing shorts/three-fourths at the Jhamma Masjid as entry may not be permitted.

 

Day 2: Sunday

 

Wake by early by 06.00 hrs & finish with Morning ablutions & Breakfast.

 

Sightsee: Shikarpura Gate, Raja ki chattri, Sarai & Ahukhana, Ancient Gurudwara & Temple, Shahi Mahal, Shahi Hammam, Black Taj Mahal, Delhi Gate, Nadir Shah & Bilgis Begum’s Tomb.

 

Return journey to Mumbai by Kushinagar express

We @ शिखर वेध has planned a weekend tour to DAJIPUR WLS 

Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary Safari

The jungle of Dajipur is situated on the border of Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts about 500 km away from Mumbai. Surrounded by rugged mountains and dense forests, this secluded little place is completely cut-off from human habitat. Home to bison, wild deer, chital, gawa and many more spectacular wild animals and birds. Dajipur is an exciting and beautiful holiday getaway, situated 1200 metres above sea level. An excursion in the vicinity to the Gagangiri Maharaj’s Math makes for a pleasant outing.

SAGARESHWAR WLS:

 

This sanctuary is unique as a very rare experiments and a significant endeavor in conservation in the sense that it is almost entirely a man made sanctuary, created through a planned afforestation programme, with an unreserved co-operation of the local population.

Velneswar:
Velneshwar has one of the most secluded and pristine beaches in the entire Konkan stretch and with popular destinations like Guhagar and Ganpatipule flanking it on either sides Velneshwar is soon going to capture the imagination of beach lovers in Maharashtra.
Velneshwar hasnt been been spoken about much apart from the Velneshwar Shiva Temple which is flocked by hundreds of devotees during the Maha –  Shivratri festival. Small shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Ganesha and Kala Bhairav are also present around the main sanctum in this Shiva temple

1 IMP thing :) :It is known that all Gokhale in the world originated from this place.
Hedvi :
Dashabhuja Ganesh Mandir, Hedvi
This ‘Laxmi – Ganesh Temple’ is not only ancient but also rare. Carved in white stone beleived to be from the Kashmir region the idol is 3 feet high with ten hands, hence the name ‘Dashabhuja Ganapati’. A grand ceremony along with a procession of in a chariot is held between Shukla Chaturthi to Shashthi in Magh every year to celebrate the birth of the elephant god.

Burondi : – Lord Parshuram Statue & Nearby Panhalekaji Caves
