About the places -

Nanded :: This fort had a dual fortification wall and 24 bastions out of which 14 bastions were in the outer fortification wall and 10 bastions were in the inner fortification wall. Only 3 bastions and the fortification wall are visible from the outside while only 8 bastions are intake as of date. The municipal corporation of Nanded has built two water tanks here. Walking towards these water tanks we enter the fort premises and a sign board which gives information about the fort has been installed near these tanks. Moving ahead there is a pond which is 15 feet long, 12 feet wide and 1o feet deep and next to this pond there are remnants of some structures which were built recently. Proceeding further to the left from these remains there is a bastion on the river bank with a shelter mounted on it. (Info source :- Trekshitiz)

Mahurgad: Mahurgad Fort is a fort located 130 km (81 mi) from Nanded. It is a pilgrimage centre of great significance to Hindus. It is the seat of goddess Renukadevi which is a shrine of Shaktipeeth.

The fort was built by Yadavas of Devgiri. 1n 1358, the fort was under the rule of Muhamad Shah Bahamani. In 1398, a local Gond chief from Berar captured Mahur. In 1428, Ahmed Shah Bahamani won the Mahurgad. Burhan Nizam Shah of Ahmadnagar defeated Alauddin Imad Shah of Berar in 1527 and occupied Mahur. In 1617, the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan defeated the Ahmednagar rulers and gained control of the Fort. Pandita Savitribai Deshmukh was the ruler of Varhad, who was holding the Jahagir of Mahur during the Mughal Empire rule. She was given the honorary name of Rai Bagan (Royal tigress) by Mughal Emperor  Aurangzeb after defeating Harchandrai. In 1670, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj gained the control of Aurangabad and Berar. After the death of Shivaji Maharaj, the Moghuls again gained the control of Berar in 1689.

Aundha Nagnath Temple :-  is an ancient  Shiva temple, 8th Jyotirlinga located at Aundha Nangnath village in Hingoli District.

Kandhar Fort: Known as ‘Kandharpur’ in medieval times, the 1000-year-old Kandhar Fort was one of the capitals of Rashtrakutas founded by Rashtrakuta king Krishna III in the 10th centuary CE spread across 24 acres around 40 km from Nanded. The oldest surviving structure in the fort is a stepwell from the Yadava period (9th to 14th centuries CE) … The main gate of the fort has a persian inscription from Muhamad Bin Tughlaq (1325- 1351). The imposing fort is encircled by a 12 meter wall and once had 18 watch towers overlooking the area. Jatantunsagar :- A reservoirs inside the fort
