We @ शिखर वेध have arranged NIGHT Trek to Lohagad & visit to Visapur fort on Sunday 7th December 2014
Here is some Info about Lohagad-Visapur:
Height: 3400/3567 Feet above MSL(Approx)
Grade: Easy
District: Pune
Region: Lonavala
Base Village: Lohagadwadi
Lohagad: This is one of the most interesting forts to visit as it still has its fortification and doorways in pristine condition. The fort dates back to the Satvahan Era and was mainly used to keep a watch on the trade route passing through the Sahyadris.
As one starts ascending the fort, 4 massive doors have to be crossed namely Ganesh Darwaza, Narayan Darwaza, Hanuman Darwaza, & Maha Darwaza. The top of the fort is expansive and has a huge lake built by Nana Phadnis.
The most interesting feature of this fort is the ‘Vinchu Katta’, which stretches for almost 2 kms and is slightly detached from the fort. The end of this katta has a bastion which was used for keeping a watch on the region.
As the name itself suggest, the ‘Vinchu Katta’ when viewed from the top of the fort resembles a Scorpions Sting.
Visapur: The companion fort to Lohagad, Visapur also served as a lookout point for the trade route passing through Lonavala.
The fort of Visapur is much more expansive and has a still standing fortification on the top. The door and steps leading to the top of the fort are worth a look.

2) Alternatively, u can catch Pune bound ST buses which don’t take Mega Highway and get down @ Lonavala bus depo … & furthur walk 10 mins

From Here we will catch Lonawala- Pune local @ 23:15 Hrs
And reach Malawali Station by 23:20 Hrs

B) Pune people : Malavali Station at 23:20 Hrs on Saturday (6th December 2014).

Shivajinagar : 22:16 Hrs
Khadki : 22:21 Hrs
Pimpri : 22:33 Hrs
