We @ शिखर वेध , have decided to UP the adrenaline dosage by organizing a Trek to Irshalgad a little explored on Wednesday 31 August 2011 ( EID- Holiday )
The name Irshalgad itself is a misnomer; Irshal is not a fort but actually a pinnacle. This is the reason why it hardly figures anywhere in history. Shivaji Maharaj captured the complete region of Kalyan and Bhiwandi, up to Rairi in May 1666. This fort too, must have come under the Maratha rule at that time.
Chowk village is birth place of Netaji Palkar who was a close associate of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Rendezvous: Meet at 6.55 AM (Sharp) at Panvel Bus Depo on Wednesday 31st August 2011. Please ensure punctuality.

07:00 Hrs: Breakfast @ Hotel Vishaka, Panvel
07:30 Hrs: Depart from Panvel bus depo to Chowk by ST / tumtum
08:15 Hrs: @ Chowk, Irshalgad base

08:45 Hrs: Trek from Chowk to Irshalwadi
10:30 Hrs: @ Irshalwadi
A small break in village
12:00 Hrs: Atop Irshalgad @ Nedhe (Natural Hole)

REST & Lunch Time

13:30 Hrs: Descend
16:30 Hrs: @ Chowk
By Tumtum / bus 2 Panvel
17:30 Hrs: @ Panvel bus depo
We would be getting back to Dadar at approx 20:00 Hrs (Subjective)
The cost of this trek would be Rs. 170/- only and would include:
> Panvel – Chowk – Panvel by Tumtum / ST
> Morning Breakfast – Tea
Note: Maximum 30 seats

A Water Bottle (~2.5 Ltrs) ( a must)
LUNCH for da day (a Must)
Raincheater (Optional) for those who don’t want to wet

Pls avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
