शिखर वेध, has arranged a 1 day Trek to Gorakhgad near Murbad on coming Saturday 9 July 2011 instead of Sunday as mentioned in Monsoon Schedule due to unavailability of leaders.

Brief Introduction about Gorakhgad
Height: ~ 2140 feet
Grade: Medium
Time: ~ Maximum 2.5 hrs from Dehari, Base Village
Location: Malshej region
.
Gorakhgad which is located close to Murbad is a trek that offers a challenge to both the mind and body. Its offers the regular walk in the woods followed by beautiful rock cut steps that lead to the cave on the fort. Another vertical flight of stairs cut through the rock wall lead up to the top of the fort which houses a small temple. This trek is an adrenaline rush for all who look for something different to do over a weekend!

Rendezvous: Sharp 06:45 Hrs @ Kalyan Bus Depo (Pls make sure about this)
07:00 Hrs: Departure from Kalyan by Bus
08:15 Hrs: @ Murbad
09:30 Hrs: @ Daheri By ST/Jeep
Breakfast Time
09:30 Hrs: Ascend
12:00 Hrs: @ Cave
Explore fort & enjoy thrilling top to view of the surrounding region, Lunch
14:30 Hrs: Descend
17:00 Hrs: @ Base
Evening snacks / Tea
18:30 Hrs: @ Murbad then to Kalyan by bus

We would be getting back to Dadar at approx 22:00 Hrs (Subjective)

The cost of this trek would be Rs. 250/- only and would include:
> Kalyan-Murbad-Kalyan by ST
> Murbad-Dehri-Murbad by Jeep / ST
> Morning breakfast,Tea & Evening snacks, Tea

Group size is limited: Maximum 25 ppl .. as I will be lone leader for this particular trek.

Things To Carry: -
LUNCH for da day (a must)
A Water Bottle (~2.5 Ltrs) ( a must)
Raincheater (Optional) for those who don’t want to wet
Camera, Cell Phone, Binoculars (Optional)
Pls avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
Good trekking shoes,
Personal basic medical kit (Containing an antiseptic, few bandages, personal medications if any, Antibiotics for stomach infection)
A haversack to put all these things
Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited.
