We @ शिखर वेध , have decided to UP the adrenaline dosage by organizing a Trek to Karnala Fort on Sunday 10 July 2016

Here is some info abt the fort:
Height: 1500 feet above MSL (Approx)
Grade: Easy
Type: Hill Fort

Karnala fort is a hill fort in Raigad district about 13 km from Panvel. Currently it is a protected place lying within the Karnala Bird Sanctuary. It was a fort of strategic importance.

Redeemed with the power struggle of many rulers, Karnala Fort stands as a specimen of the 13th century constructions. The fort was sparingly used by the Karnala rulers including Angres, Mudhan and Peshwas until 1818, by which time British rulers have taken over the grand old fort under their control.

The Karnala Fort engulf a steep rock in the midst of greenish surroundings and has been a challenge to many adventurous trekkers all through the past and continue to be a great attraction among the fans of trekkers. The fort doorway is adorned with many carvings of elephants and tigers. One can see cute water reservoirs developed naturally in the rocks. The cool surroundings and the beautiful landscapes make this region a place for calm weekends.

Rendezvous: Meet at 07:15 AM (Sharp) at Panvel Railway Station on Sunday 10th July 2016.

Please ensure punctuality.

1) CST – Panvel Train timings as below

CST : 05:56 Hrs

Vadala: 06:14 Hrs

Kurla : 06:24 Hrs

Vashi: 06:43 Hrs

Belapur: 06:58 Hrs

Panvel: 07:13 Hrs

2) Thane – Panvel Train timings as below

THane: 06:24 Hrs

Koparkhairane: 06:41 Hrs

Belapur: 07:02 Hrs

Panvel: 07:17 Hrs

A walk of about 10 minutes will bring us to Panvel ST Depo

07:30 Hrs: Breakfast – Tea @ Hotel Visava, Panvel

08:05 Hrs: Depart from Panvel bus depo to Karnala by ST / tumtum

08:45 Hrs: @ Karnala base

Intro & Instructions

09:00 Hrs: Trek from Base to Karnala Fort

11:30 Hrs: Atop Karnala Fort

Sight seeing, REST & Lunch Time for 2 Hrs

13:30 Hrs: Descend 2 Base

16:00 Hrs: @ Karnala Base

MOve 2 Panvel By ST / Tum-tum

17:30 Hrs: @ Panvel bus depo

We would be getting back to Dadar at approx 19:30 Hrs (Subjective)

The cost of this trek would be Rs. 400/- per head only and would include:

> Panvel – Karnala – Panvel by Tumtum / ST
> Morning Breakfast – Tea
> Sanctuary – Entry Fee
VIMP Note: At the forest entry – point, All plastic bottles will be Counted & have to deposit some amount for the same. In case, if any participant member forget his bottle in the sanctuary and couldn’t show it at the gate, he has to Pay Rs 100/- fine for the same.

Note: Maximum 35 seats

Pls avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
Extra Pair of clothes,
Good trekking shoes,
A haversack to put all these things
