शिखर वेध has arranged a little explored one day trek to Sankshi Fort near Pen on Sunday 2 December 2012

Brief Introduction about Sankshi Fort:-

Height: 850 ft
Grade: Medium
Time: ~ Maximum 2.5 hrs from Balavali, Base Village
Location: Raigad District

Meeting Point: Panvel Bus Depo – 07:15 Hrs

Journey Details:-

Catch the local train for Panvel on Sunday 2nd December 2012. Timings r as follows

Panvel slow Train:
CST        5:47 am
Wadala   6:05 am
Kurla       6:15 am
Chembur 6:20 am
Vashi    6:34 am
Nerul     6:43 am
Belapur 6:50 am
Panvel    7:04 am

Pls do keep a buffer time of 5 mins due to changes in time table

A 7-8 mins walk will take us to Panvel Bus Depo

We will meet @ Panvel Bus Depo

Breakfast – Tea Time

08:15 Hrs: Move 2 Balavali by ST
09:00 Hrs: Balavali

09:30 Hrs: Trek Ascend

11:00 Hrs: @ Badrudin Darga

12:30 Hrs: Sankshi Fort Atop

Lunch,Rest,Explore

14:30 Hrs: Descend
16:30 Hrs: @ Balavali

18:00 Hrs: @ Panvel

Evening refreshments

We will be in Mumbai around 20:00 hrs (that’s – subjective)

The Expenditure for the trek is Rs. 350 /- per head

This includes Panvel 2 Panvel Transportation fare, Morning & Evening refreshments and Shikhar Vedh Charges

Things To Carry:-

Pls Do carry LUNCH for Sunday (a must)
A Water Bottle (~3 Ltrs) (a must)
Camera, Cell Phone, Binoculars (Optional)
Pls avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments
Some ready to eat food.
Plum cakes, biscuits etc.
Good trekking shoes,
Personal basic medical kit (Containing an antiseptic, few bandages, personal medications if any, Antibiotics for stomach infection)
