Introduction:
Kedarnath has been a pilgrimage centre since ancient times. It is not certain who constructed the original Kedarnath temple and when. A mythological account ascribes the temple’s construction to the legendary Pandava brothers mentioned in the Mahabharata. However, the Mahabharata does not mention any place called Kedarnath. One of the earliest references to Kedarnath occurs in the Skanda Purana (c. 7th-8th century), which names Kedara (Kedarnath) as the place where Shiva released the holy waters of Ganga from his matted hair, resulting in the formation of the Ganges river.

PARANDA Fort ::

No records are available to show when this fort was constructed, but believe that it was laid out during the late 15th century by Mahmud Gawan, the Vazir of Bahamani Sultanate.

In 1599, Mughals defeated Nizam Shahi of Ahmednagar. Though Emperor Akbar appointed his officers to look after the kingdom of the Deccan, the Nizam Shah’s officers refused to receive orders from them. They had lost their independence. They declared Murtaza, the son of Shah Ali king and made Paranda Fort, about 75 miles south east of Ahmednagar capital. The site passed several times between them and the Adil Shahis and remained with him for two to three years and was captured by the Adil Shah in 1630. In 1657 it was again captured by the Moghuls and eventually came into the hands of the Nizams of Hyderabad.

Solapur Bhuikot Fort

Bhuikot Fort is the major attraction in Solapur region. This fort is not only the muslim fort but also it is ancient historical and religious place in Maharashtra.

Dear All, शिखर वेध has arranged a 2 – day Trip to Ganpatipule – Marleshwar – Amba Ghat – Pavankhind – Panhala fort

Brief Introduction about Places as below: -
.
Ganpatipule: Nestled in the greenery is a nearly 4000 year old landmark the Swayambhu Ganpati Temple (Swayambhu means a self-originated idol, Ganapati). It is flooded by thousands of devotees and tourists every year. Ganpatipule, the Lord of the ‘ganas’ or army and “pule” means sand dunes. It is one of the ‘Ashta Ganapatis’ (eight Ganpatis) of India and is known as ‘Paschim Dwar Dewata’ (Western Sentinel God).
.
Marleshwar Temple: Tourists should visit this important temple in Sangmeshwar for devotion and natural beauty. We can see Sahyadri’s huge precipice and river. We get a surprise when we reach Marleshwar in the pleasant atmosphere. At the right side we get the entrance of the cave and near the entrance of the cave, there is ‘Kund’ of cold water. When we enter the cave we can see Shri. Marleshwar. Friendly snakes and cobras are everywhere in the cave but noteworthy thing is not a single person has died because of snakes here. If we go ahead, ‘Dhareshwar’ waterfall can be seen. The waterfall sight is very beautiful from the cave but we don’t get an idea about the height of the waterfall from here. We will have to go beyond ‘Karambeli Doh’ for that.

Brief Introduction about Harishchandragad:
Grade:Easy
Time: ~ 2 hrs from Pachnai, Base Village
Location:Nagar region

.
Harishchandragad: The fort is quite ancient, considered to be from the Medieval period. The Great sage Changdev (one who created the epic Tatvasaar), used to meditate on Taramati/Rohidas in 14th century. The caves are also from the same period. Harishchandragad was captured by the Marathas in 1747 from the Moguls.
.
Konkan Kada: The most interesting point on this fort is this cliff, which has always fascinated many people from many years. The cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan with a breathtaking view of the surrounding region and sunset. This cliff is not just vertical; it is an overhang, almost like a cobra’s hood.
.
Kedareshwar: The cave of Kedareshwar has a big Shivlinga, which is totally surrounded by water.
Hope 2 c u on trek with us to NJoy again

Brief Introduction about Harishchandragad:

Height: 1412 meters (4510 feet)
Grade:Easy
Time: ~ 2 hrs from Pachnai, Base Village
Location:Nagar region

Harishchandragad: The fort is quite ancient, considered to be from the Medieval period. The Great sage Changdev (one who created the epic Tatvasaar), used to meditate on Taramati/Rohidas in 14th century. The caves are also from the same period. Harishchandragad was captured by the Marathas in 1747 from the Moguls.

Kedareshwar: The cave of Kedareshwar has a big Shivlinga, which is totally surrounded by water.
