There is a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Lord Shankara after getting angry killed Rakshas Tripurasura. Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary Safari

The jungle of Dajipur is situated on the border of Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts about 500 km away from Mumbai. Surrounded by rugged mountains and dense forests, this secluded little place is completely cut-off from human habitat. Home to bison, wild deer, chital, gawa and many more spectacular wild animals and birds. Dajipur is an exciting and beautiful holiday getaway, situated 1200 metres above sea level. An excursion in the vicinity to the Gagangiri Maharaj’s Math makes for a pleasant outing.

SAGARESHWAR WLS:

This sanctuary is unique as a very rare experiments and a significant endeavor in conservation in the sense that it is almost entirely a man made sanctuary, created through a planned afforestation programme, with an unreserved co-operation of the local population.

We @ शिखर वेध , have decided to UP the adrenaline dosage by organizing a Trek to Karnala Fort

Here is some info abt the fort:

Height: 1500 feet above MSL (Approx)
Grade: Easy
Type: Hill Fort

Karnala fort is a hill fort in Raigad district about 13 km from Panvel. Currently it is a protected place lying within the Karnala Bird Sanctuary. It was a fort of strategic importance.

Redeemed with the power struggle of many rulers, Karnala Fort stands as a specimen of the 13th century constructions. The fort was sparingly used by the Karnala rulers including Angres, Mudhan and Peshwas until 1818, by which time British rulers have taken over the grand old fort under their control.The Karnala Fort engulf a steep rock in the midst of greenish surroundings and has been a challenge to many adventurous trekkers all through the past and continue to be a great attraction among the fans of trekkers. The fort doorway is adorned with many carvings of elephants and tigers. One can see cute water reservoirs developed naturally in the rocks. The cool surroundings and the beautiful landscapes make this region a place for calm weekends.

Chitrakoot waterfall :- is located on the Indravati River and is one of the largest waterfall in India and may be the widest waterfall in Asia. It is popularly called as “The Niagara Falls of India”. The height of the waterfall is about 29 metres (95 ft). The wideness of the waterfall depends on the water level in the river Indravati. During monsoon, the water level of the river touches the both banks which are nearly 150 m in wide, and the waterfall look like wild in nature.

Tirathgarh Waterfalls :- Is situated at 35 km from Jagdalpur, in the south-west direction. The waterfall has an approximate height of 300 ft and is situated in the Kanger Valley National Park. The water falls from 91 meters but its staircase-step, structure makes it less violent and gives it an amazing look.

As the name is the jungle, so dense and dark that at some places the sun-rays don’t reach to ground at noon time as well and one may not find any route out of it if lost.

Jungle trek : One of the ancient sahyadri passes that joins ghat to konkan area, Andharban offers endless trudge through the thicket forest.

Trekking : we will be walking on ridge offering awesome view of the Kundalika Valley, Bhira dam and the mountain ranges of Tamhini ghat.

Waterfalls :: En-route 4-5 small waterfalls to enjoy

We @ SHIKHAR VEDH has arranged an offbeat trek of Upandya Ghat to Madhe Ghat on Sunday 22 July 2018

.

The trek is full of Lush Green Valleys, Waterfalls and a scenic one.

In history, when the great warrior Narveer Tanaji Malusare died in the Sinhagad battle, his body was taken for last rites to his native village Umrath near Poladpur. Tanaji Malusare’s funeral procession was taken to his native place from this Madhe ghat route. Everyone should enjoy this simple trek, as it is a complete descends in a Valley.

About Amboli Ghat

Amboli is a “Biodiversity haven” especially for herpetofauna and microfauna with new fascinating species reported from the area every year. It’s a hot-spot for brimming wildlife such as reptiles, amphibians and many other macro subjects.Come join us in the journey to unravel this hidden secrets of nature through most sensitive & intimate encounters with this region!!

Wide variety of amphibians include amboli bush frog, Malabar gliding frog, bicolored frog also reptiles such as green vine snake, beddomes keel back, Deccan banded gecko etc can be found in amboli ghat.

Itinerary for Amboli Ghat Nature Trail

Day 1

Arrival at Sawantwadi station / Kolhapur ( By Train / Buses)

Pick-up to Amboli ghat,

Reach Amboli ghat and check in, evening trail at Mahadev gad road,

followed by dinner.

Day 2

Breakfast and visit Amboli botanical garden to explore frogs, insects and other macro subject’s photography till lunch, after lunch rest. Night trail towards Chaukul village accompanied by local expert.

Day 3

Breakfast and morning local trail, leave towards Sawantwadi railway station / Kolhapur railway station. (drop at 4pm, Tutari exp 11004).
