Yana Rocks :- Limestone rocks, a hiking trail, beautiful scenery and lush backdrops compose Yana Rocks. These rocks lie close to the village of Yana in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. They are home to an epic trail of limestone formations and black karst structures. Yana is famous for two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara 120 metres (390 ft) in height and the Mohini Shikhara is 90 metres (300 ft) in height.

Banavasi :- Madhukeshwara Temple – A 9th Century Marvel. Located in one of the oldest cities of India, Banavasi, the Madhukeshwara temple has religious and historical significance. … Banavasi was the first capital city of Karnataka when it was ruled by the Kadamba dynasty.

Sahasralinga :- is a pilgrimage place, located around 14 km from the Sirsi. It is in the river Shalmala and is famous for being the location where around a thousand lingas are carved on rocks in the river and on its banks.

Murudeshwara is a town in the Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. “Murudeshwara” is another name of the Hindu god Shiva. Famous for the world’s second-tallest Shiva statue, Murudeshwara beach town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for the Murudeshwara Temple. The nearest airport to Murudeshwar is Mangalore International Airport at distance of 160 kilometre .Murudeshwar has railway station on Konkan railway route.

Kothaligad is more commonly known as the fort of Peth because the village of Peth is situated at its base. The pinnacle of the Peth can
be seen from the village. It looks like a filed surface. On reaching the top of the fort, we see caves carved in huge rocks. The first one
is the cave of Goddess, besides which is a water cistern and the last one is the specious Bhairoba cave. A flat floor and well-sculpted
pillars are specialty of the cave. Along the Bhairoba cave, steps are carved leading the pinnacle. Four–Five potholes and some cannon balls
are scattered in the fort.

Brief Introduction & Summary:

Distance to be covered: 70km approx.

Difficulty level: Medium

Endurance level: High – Previous trekking experience required.

Maximum participants: 25 only

Lonavala to Bhimashankar is known to be one of the ancient trek routes in the Sahyadri ranges. This old route shall put your endurance level to test. This a life changing experience, and worth every effort that you put in every stride. Hills and downhill, plateaus and long vast plateaus, dense forest of Karvi plants, ever-changing route, breath taking beauty. One of the most amazing trekking experiences we must say.

Itinerary of the trek is as follows:
Day 0 :: Friday :

Meet at Lonavala station by 23:00 Hrs

Here, enjoy the small introduction session. Start the trek from station.

Day 1 :: Saturday :  

Will reach Valvand village by 3:30 am 

A 2 hours rest … and after having breakfast start our trek towards Kondeshwar temple ….

9:30 Hrs : @ Kondeshwar temple

Move to beautiful Kusur plateau. The huge plateau with awesome greenery and windy sometimes. We’ll reach Kusur village by lunch time. Have lunch (Self-Carried) at Kusur village. around 13:00 Hrs

Transport to Talapewadi village by private vehicle from Kusur.

Start trekking from Talape village approximately 3 hours trek to Padharwadi village via famous ‘Vandre Khind’ which is a rest of day village. This village is at core of Sahyadri. reach @ Padharwadi by 7 pm … Overnight stay at Padharwadi.

Day 2 :: Sunday

The final Day. Today we’ll reach out final destination to the Bhimashankar. We will start our trek early morning so that we can complete as early as possible. After breakfast, start trek from Padharwadi. After crossing huge plateau reach at final point at Bhimashankar. Trek conclude with lot of sense of achievement and off course happy memories.

Hemkund Sahib : -

The high altitude serine lake, known as Hemkund ( ~ 14100 ft) lies in heavenly environment. It is an important pilgrimage for both Hindus and Sikhs. Guru Govind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru meditated by a lake surrounded with seven snow-capped peaks. There is a Sikh Gurudwara and a Lakshman temple built on the bank of the lake.

Gradual ascend trail from Govindghat to Ghangaria.

Ghangaria – Valley flower (~ 11500 ft) – Ghangaria (4 km one way / 4 hrs)

Visit the gurudwara and enjoy hot lunch @ Langar  
Steep descend will head back to reach Ghangaria by evening and relax.

Beas Kund ::

Beas Kund trek is one of the most popular and beautiful trek in Kullu Valley. Beas Kund is a holy lake where Rishi Vyas took his daily bath. River Beas originates from here. Solang Nalla base camp is 13 km from Manali and 1 hour drive, a popular place for tourists for ski slopes, para gliding etc. Dhundhi camp gives first glimpse of Mt. Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters. Beas Kund area might be full of snow at the time of this trek. This is enjoyable and easy going trek for any age group.

A place of historical significance, Beas Kund is one of the most beautiful places in the Dhauladhar range of the mighty Himalayas. Besides being regarded as sacred, Beas Kund is where the river Beas originates from and offer spectacular views of the nearby located Shitidhar, Ladakhi, Friendship and Hanuman Tibba peaks. One of the most alluring treks in the Kullu region, the trail offers panoramic views of the Pir Pangal range as well, and follows the banks of the river Beas. This is one of the most popular short treks through the Solang valley and takes you through an expanse of picturesque mountain landscapes. Beas Kund area might be full of snow at the time of this trek. This trek is enjoyable and easy going trek, suitable for people for all age groups with no prior trekking experience required to join in.

Day 2: Monday 17th May 2021 :: Burwa to Dhundi Glacier (10,800 ft) ~ 4 – 5 hrs (7 km)

Today 7 km long trek takes us over loosely held boulders and moraines with Beautiful Ice Bridges /Glaciers at places. We continue up to a scenic camp site at the pastures of Dhundi Glacier which is a high-altitude meadow and literally means ‘shepherd’s field’. These enchanting meadows are very popular pastures for the Gaddis – a hardy nomadic tribe of shepherds, and it’s easy to find flocks of sheep grazing peacefully in this pastoral idyll. These sun and wind swept meadows will be a feast for your senses. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Tuesday 18th May 2021 :: Dhundi Glacier – Bakarthach 

An early start to the day and a short climb up the ridge through Bhoj Patra will get us to Beas Kund. Bhoj Patra gets its name from the fact that the area has a lot of Bhoj Patra (birch) trees.

Day 4: Wednesday 19th May 2021 :: Bakarthach – Beas Kund – Bakarthach

An early start to the day and a short climb up the ridge through. We will spend time here at the glacial tarn of Beas Kund – the source of one of the major rivers of north India. The legend is that Sage Vyas, the author of the great epic Mahabharata, meditated here. After a full day of excursion in the Beas Kund plateau, we will come back to Bakarthach in the evening.

Cancellations :


Cancellation: If for some reason you wish to cancel your trek, an email intimation needs to be sent to [email protected] Cancellation requests are not taken over phone. However, you can phone to check whether your cancellation has been processed.

The cancellation charges are as under:

Cancellations prior to 90 days from the start of the trek — full refund.
Cancellation between 89 days and 40 days to the start of the trek — 50% refund.
Cancellation less than 39 days to the start of the trek — no refund.

Note: If a trek is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike/bandh etc), SHIKHAR Vedh & our associate partner Shikharpar, Manali, Himachal Pradesh is not responsible and will not give any refund.

 

Drop out during trek: If for some reason a participant has to drop out from the trek on any day then will make arrangements for his/her return upto Manali. A staff will accompany the participant to the Manali.  Manali transportation and stay cost at any location including Manali has to be borne by the participant.

Brief Introduction about Gorakhgad

Height: ~ 2140 feet

Gorakhgad which is located close to Murbad is a trek that offers a challenge to both the mind and body. Its offers the regular walk in the woods followed by beautiful rock cut steps that lead to the cave on the fort. Another vertical flight of stairs cut through the rock wall lead up to the top of the fort which houses a small temple. This trek is an adrenaline rush for all who look for something different to do over a weekend!

Brief Introduction about PATTA Fort (VISHRAMGAD) : –

Fort Patta History –

Patta fort earlier belonged to Mughals but in year 1671,Moropant Pingle was on a mission of capturing forts in Nasik and Baglan range and thus in year 1672,Moropant Pingle was succesful to capture this fort
.
Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during raid on Jalna in year 1679 rested for some time near Sangamner and unfortunately the Maratha army was siezed from all sides by Mughal army and Shivaji Maharaj was ill during that time. Bahirji Naik succesfully rescued Shivaji Maharaj and took him to Patta fort. Shivaji Maharaj stayed on this fort for around 1.5 months to recover from illness(After Rajgad and Raigad,Patta is the only fort where Shivaji Maharaj stayed for this much long time)
